Civil Works

Kamrup (Rural) district is created as new district after bifurcation of Kamrup district as Kamrup(Metropolitan) district and Kamrup (Rural) district from AWP&B 2013-14. Civil works activities are undertaken as per provision of SSA with community participation. The construction of civil works activities are done by the School Management Committees (SMCs) in the district. The sanctioned amount for an activity is transferred to the bank account of SMCs.


Management Information System

The Management Information System Unit of SSA is set up to provide information to support all levels of management of the Programme. The collected data from the Survey of DISE is computerized and analyzed by the Management Information System to properly implement of the programme in every point of view. All kinds of collected data are interacting with all the related levels by the Management Information unit as per requirement.

Teachers Training & Pedagogy

Teachers’ Training and Pedagogy Component is one of the core components of SSA which deals with quality of education. This component is concerned with comprehensive development of children, content of curriculum, teaching learning processes, preparation of teachers and structural as well as organizational aspects. SSA, Kamrup (Rural) has been emphatic in changing the classroom environment In keeping up with the spirit of NCF-2005 and RTE Act- 2009, measures have been taken to ensure every child attain a satisfactory level of achievement in a child-friendly environment free from any barrier.

Special Training

The section 4 of RTE Act makes specific provision for special training for age appropriate admission for out of school children. A majority of out of school belong to disadvantage communities, Scheduled Cast, Scheduled Tribes, Muslim minorities, migrates children with special need, urban deprived children, working child, Girls comprise a bulk of out of school. Special training for never enrolled children or those who dropped out before completing Elementary Education would require an authentic identification of children who must enrolled to and which may take the form of 35 nos of NRSTCs (Rural & Urban) form of Seasonal Centre, 3 nos of RSTCs etc.

Community Participation

The role of community in school development activities has significantly widened through RTE Act. The Act emphasizes that planning shall commence at school level and the School Management Committee (SMC) shall play an active role for preparation of such plan. As per section 22, the School Development Plan (SDP) to be prepared by SMC will be the basis for the plans and grants to be made by the appropriate Government. Unless the SMCs are empowered and have been made professionally equipped for preparation and implementation of a worthy School Development Plan, the development of schools as per RTE will remain as distant dream. Inclusive Education

The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education is a fundamental right to all children. SSA has put forward one step ahead to encompass the children with disabilities. To implement this Right to education Act 2009, implemented from 1st April 2010 the government of Assam as well as Sarva Siksha Abhijan Mission Assam has undertaken various strategy for providing quality education and other basic facility to the CWSN having the age group of 6-18 years in general schools with an inclusive environment. The organization aims to provide inclusion to all children. It is also trying to support a wide range of approaches, options & strategies for education of the children with special needs

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV)

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) – is a residential school for girls to provide elementary level quality education to girl children of the age group 10 to 16 years belonging to SC, ST, OBC and Minority communities. KGBV, Goroimari and KGBV Chamaria are running In Kamrup (Rural) covering drop out and never enrolled category girl Children. Project Management & Accounts The activities covered under Project Management head mainly salary for DMC Office staff, Office Contingency, Procurement & maintenance of Equipments/furniture, documentation of different activities, Statutory Audit, SMC audit, Internal audit on concurrent basis, bank charges etc. which were performed smoothly in the district as per provision of plan of action. Mid Day Meal Mid-Day-Meal Programme has been started in the State of Assam with effect from January, 2005. The Programme is expected to boost and sustain the pace of achieving the objectives like universal enrolment, universal retention and quality improvement. The Mid-day Meal Scheme is a school meal programme of the Government of India designed to better the nutritional standing of school-age children nationwide.
